Area description
Discover the popular coastal resort of Newquay, the myth and legend of King Arthur's Tintagel, and the quaint bustling market towns of Launceston and Bodmin both ancient capitals of Cornwall.
Bodmin Moor is dominated by dramatic granite tors which tower over the sweeping expanse of moorland; and Launceston, an ancient capital with its impressive Norman Castle standing proudly over the town.
On the estuary the small village of Rock hosts a major watersports centre, perfect for sailing, windsurfing and rowing. Hop on the ferry across to Padstow, or explore the scenic coastal footpaths and inland walks. Nestling in the dunes is St. Enodoc Church where the late Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman is buried.
Padstow, with its fleet of trawlers, netters and crabbers is a colourful, working harbour. On May Day Padstow dances to a different tune, when the pagan "Obby 'Oss" is unleashed and the narrow streets throb to the ceaseless drumbeat and wild cavortings of this age-old fertility celebration.
Port Isaac is an unspoilt, pretty fishing village and sheltered harbour with interesting shops, quality restaurants, and pubs linked by tiny alleyways.
Meandering up the coast is the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with its 16th Century quay and charming cottages. Nearby Tintagel is famous for its Arthurian legends and the remains of King Arthur's castle still stand today.
The town of Bude is situated on the Atlantic Heritage Coast of Cornwall, adjacent to fine sandy beaches that offer some of the finest surfing to be enjoyed in all of England.

#44 Excellent equipment
Your properties are well equiped and we had a very pleasant experience staying there. The standard of equipment was excellent and i would say that the accomodation was better than a lot of similar priced cottages that we have previously stayed in.
#26 Our first visit to Cornwall
We had a fantastic holiday (our first visit to Cornwall) and loved Shippen 1. The setting was so peaceful and the outside area was perfect for our 2 lively boys. We had mixed weather so the kids only used the pool once but it would be great in hot weather. Thank you!
#25 Favourite place to stay.
Shippen 1 in Tremeale barns is one of my most favourite places to stay. It is comforting, peaceful and really quaint. You have a 24 hr tesco nearby. A lovely little village down the road. But best of all you feel at one with nature. Hearing the birds sing throughout the day, the horses gallop and farm animals nearby. A great getaway where I would go again and again and again!
#9 Shippen 1
Our weekend away at the shippen 1 in Tremeale barn was amazing! A relaxing cottage with all its mod cons. A garden with a five star view of the countryside made us feel at peace and so relaxed. My daughter loved the trampoline and feeding the horse first thing in the morning. With Launceston town just down the road, its quaint little town is perfect for a stroll around the castle and shops. And our drive around the bodmin moors was really refreshing. We will definately be coming back to visit. Thank you for a great getaway. Will be recommending it to all our friends.
#6 Fantastic Place
This is a wonderful cottage in a very pretty location. How refreshing to find somewhere that's as lovely as it looks in the photos. This cottage manages to be modern and cosy at the same time and is very well-maintained. Great for children. Fantastic large garden with two trampolines, basketball hoop and space for footie. Our kids (12 and 11) loved it. The bedrooms, living area and bathroom were all of a high standard. Overall, great value for money. We will certainly be back!
